Dawn C. Marcus

Dawn Marcus former Director of Washington DC Communications, Hines Interests Limited Partnership, passed away the week of September 13, 2023, at Medstar Washington Hospital Ctr, Washington, DC.  A beloved sister, colleague, soror, and friend to so many. Ms. Marcus was a well-respected, iconic member of the commercial realty industry. She was known for planning and development and community outreach for numerous Hines properties and communities. Most recent endeavors CityCenterDC and the Walter Reed Medical Center redevelopment highlight her illustrious career. A staunch advocate for equality for minority women in commercial realty, Dawn founded and was President of the African American Realty Professionals and President/Member of the CREW, WDC Chapter. Other professional affiliations: Member DC BIA, DC Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Greater Washington alumnus. Ms. Marcus, the fifth child of nine born to George Wm and Jessie M. Marcus Jr (USAF) is survived by siblings: Ilauna, Georgia, Kyle, and Kolyan.
