On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Deacon James Harold King, affectionately called Harold, transitioned from this earthly realm. He was the eleventh of fifteen children born to Samual A. King and Virginia R. King. Harold was a loving, caring, and sharing family man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His church family at First Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Washington, DC has lost a dedicated and faithful servant who was a bold witness for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Harold leaves to cherish his memory his wife of forty-eight years, Gwendolyn M; Godson Robert Lyles; Goddaughters Angela V. Moore and Ashley Roberson; Great Nephew Quincy Moore; devoted Niece Pamelia Capers; eight of his fifteen siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rest Well Faithful One.
