Leo Townsend

Mr. Leo Townsend passed away unexpectedly at his home in Washington, DC on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Leo was a Native Washingtonian and was the fourth child of eight children born on March 26, 1963, to Ernest Jr. and Annie Townsend. He was a sports enthusiast, a bicyclist, and a politician at heart. Leo has always been curious and a prankster. He was often judged by his tough exterior, but inside he was a gentle giant who loved making everyone laugh. He leaves to cherish his memories his one and only son, Leo Patrick Townsend, Greensboro, NC; six sisters, Ernestine Gladden, Josephine, Pamela, Patricia Townsend, Jorletta Ojelade, DC, and Cynthia Minick, Saluda, SC; and one brother, Robert Townsend, Frederick, MD.
