Leroy Thomas Ellis

Leroy Thomas Ellis, Sr., 50, of Washington, D.C., passed away suddenly on August 26, 2025. Born on October 24, 1974, to the late Leroy B. Ellis and Doris Moore, Leroy proudly served over 33 years with the D.C. Department of Public Works, earning recognition for his dedication and care for the community. He also owned Ellis Hauling, LLC, working alongside his family. 

On August 9, 2003, he married his beloved wife, Titiana Benton-Ellis, with whom he shared 23 years of love. A devoted husband, father, and “Pop-Pop,” Leroy leaves to cherish his memory his wife, eight children, three grandchildren, sister, and a host of loving relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy Ellis Sr, and Doris Moore, a sister Tina Ellis, nephew Vonte Martin, and other family members. Leroy will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and unwavering love for family.
