A native Washingtonian, she was born to the late Benjamin Franklin Johnson, Sr. and Doris Minyon Johnson. She transitioned to her heavenly home on November 11, 2024.
Predeceased by her siblings, Deacon Benjamin Franklin Johnson, Jr. (sister-in-law Elder Ingrid Y. Johnson), Kenneth Eugene Johnson, Constance Jones Wise, and Beverly Carroll, and husband, James Edward Tate.
Ava leaves a legacy of love to her beloved children. Her son, Apostle Dr. Shaun Patrick Johnson, Sr. (daughter-in-love Evangelist Kelly Patrice Joyner). Her daughters, Stacey Nicole Eaton and Sherita Rochelle Landers (son-in-law Thomas D. Landers), and stepson, James E. Tate, III (daughter-in-law T Lynn Tate), 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
