Phyllis Antonette Persinger, formerly of Covington, Virginia, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 18th, 2025, in Washington, DC. Born in Covington, Virginia on August 4th, 1944, to the late William and Mary Anna Persinger. Phyllis was the second of five children. Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, Virginia.
In 1992, Phyllis moved to Washington, DC to stay with her family. She attended the Art and Drama Therapy Institute, Inc. in Washington, DC. She loved that school. She enjoyed art, reading, and many field trips. She met many friends. Later, she moved to a group home. She loved watches, liked to color, and make Jewelry. She had long hair and wanted it to be combed every day. Phyllis leaves to cherish her three sisters (Ruby Trammell, Judy Persinger, and Marie Finley), a close cousin (Julia Thompson), and a host of nieces and nephews.
