On May 1, 2026, Reverend Fowlkes was called home to be with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his late wife Dorothy Wells-Fowlkes. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: William O. of New York, and Daryl (Deneen) of Fort Washington, MD; four grandchildren: Daryl, Leah, Isaiah, and Anaiah; Bonus daughter: Tina Wells; Sister: Barbara Jean Early (Frank) of Keysville, VA; Sister-in-Law: Mary Mackall (Norman) of New York; a special niece, Valerie, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Rev. Fowlkes was preceded in death by his brothers: Richard Vernon Fowlkes and Floyd Allen Fowlkes, his sisters: Martha Hamlett, Bertina Clark, Amelia McCrimmon, Dorothy Hurt, Naomi Walker, and Marion Welborn.
Rev. Fowlkes gained strength from his favorite scripture, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!” Well done, good and faithful servant. Rest in His everlasting Peace.
