Obituary
Sarah Mae Hayes of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2022. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Delores Covington, and her husband Donald Preston Hayes. Sarah will always be lovingly remembered by her six children; Charles Covington, Donna Hayes, Lois “Gina” Parks (Roc) Darlene Harper (Earl), Linda Hayes and Karen Hayes; Nine grandchildren Jerome Jones, Jr. Donell Hayes (Adrianne) Yanicia Dixon, Demetrius Hayes (LaDonna) Charles Rice, Shakita Harper, Jaleesa Harper, Ronnell Lee and Tamara Benbow: 23 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; One niece and nephew Lynn Ervin and Wayne Hayes; Beloved cousins Roy Jr., Vannie Mae, Freddie V and Gracie; 2 loving goddaughters, Angie Buchanan and Deborah Dessaso; longtime care-giver and friend Marvaline Draper and a host of family members and friends.
