Von Deleah H. Williams, affectionately known as “Bonnie” was born November 10, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to the late Albert and Jabella T. Hinton. She was the second of five siblings: Alvin, Gregory, Alan (who preceded her in death), and Samone. She was raised in Washington, D.C., on the infamous “Hanover Place”. She was educated in Washington, D.C. by the Archdiocese of Washington and the D.C. Public School system.
In 1966, before finishing high school, Bonnie's father earned his heavenly wings and she and her older brother Alvin began to assist their mother with rearing their younger siblings. A short time later, she met the love of her life Kenneth “Kenny” Williams. Their courtship did not last long, Kenny soon asked her for her hand in marriage and they got married on December 3, 1970. Bonnie and Clyde, as they were referred to by many, were married for over forty years before Kenny was called home to be with the Lord in 2008. Bonnie mourned the death of her husband, but she knew that God does not make mistakes.
Bonnie held multiple jobs before becoming a dedicated federal civil servant. She worked at various agencies before eventually landing a role at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She would retire from the USDA after 30 years of federal service as an Import Specialist with the Sugar Group Division.
Bonnie loved to have fun by spending time with her family and friends, cooking/eating crabs, grilling, going to bingo, visiting casinos, jazz functions, concerts, and other cultural gatherings.
She would often remind her family members that she was going to live life to the fullest and that is what she did. She never allowed anyone to dim her light. She was the life of the party and she gave great advice based on life experiences.
On January 25, 2025, Bonnie departed this life to go to a place of eternal bliss and peacefulness. She affectionately and influentially touched the lives of many people.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sibling - Samone Hinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and her beloved parrot "Bobby".
