2nd Generation Funeral Director
2nd Generation Funeral Director
Our father John E. Robinson worked two jobs to provide for his family working for the government as a clerk and owning his business Robinson Funeral Home. Our mother Mollie C Robinson was a housewife and worked beside our father as a licensed Funeral Director Apprentice.Being one of seven children, we had the responsibility to work in the business also. When funerals were held, we opened the door for clients, passed our programs, and tissue. We answered the telephone, “Robinson Funeral home can I help you”, and wrote messages. We were taught that we had to be quiet when funerals were going on because we lived over top the funeral home. This was the way to show respect for the family. As a child of John and Mollie Robinson we were always taught to dress clean and show respect to our elders while we were outside the home because we represented them. I graduated from University of the District of Columbia to honor them receiving my Mortuary Science Degree.I am a licensed Funeral Director in Washington, D.C., Maryland and a Courtesy Card for Virginia. I am Grandma's baby turned 3rd generation Funeral Director. On Fridays we had half a day school so I would go to my gramdma's house/funeral home. I grow up assisting my grandmother Molly Smoot Robinson when she lived over the Funeral Home helping her with daily operations answering the phone, vacuuming, sweeping the front porch.I just enjoyed being at my Grandmas house which happened to be a funeral home. I love God, my Family,Fitness and serving our families at the funeral home. I’m a Third Generation Funeral Director. When God said the last would be first and the first will be last to God be the Glory he was talking about me.What I’m doing today came from my Grandparents vision of me before I was born, visionary’s of our legacy, It is my duty to investment in the next generation. The Bible says Proverbs 13:22: A good man or woman leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. ... He does not just prepare for his children's future, but for his grandchildren, children. When I began to opening my eyes to who I was God started to shift my life.God gets all the glory every time God gets all the praise for sustaining our family business for 80 + years. We are pushing for 100 more years of greatness that’s the vision I have for our children children children.
